Press Release Body: Macau’s newest luxury hotel, Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16, has quickly established a reputation for its succulent French-European dishes that are enticing foreign and local guests alike. After opening in August, Macau’s first and only French luxury hotel has visitors raving about its Mistral restaurant, which serves contemporary buffets combining French, Mediterranean and local flavours. Mistral’s alfresco dining area overlooks Macau’s Inner Harbour waterfront, providing the perfect setting for the special tastes offered in a wide range of culinary experiences. The unique French-European buffets are offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner. According to the Macau Daily Times, Mistral's brunches have been attracting local business people seeking to sample the delicious variety of Mediterranean, French and Asian flavours. For those seeking to unwind, the Rendezvous lobby lounge is decorated in French style and provides a sumptuous choice of signature cocktails and fine wines. The Vin Bar and the Pool Bar are also available on site. As part of the internationally renowned Accor Group – one of the world’s largest hotel groups and services – the five-star Sofitel Macau is the first in the group to set up home in Macau.
The hotel was developed by Pier 16-Resort Hotel Management Limited as part of a US$400 million (HK$3.2 billion) investment that involves a combined hotel, casino, retail, dining and entertainment complex.
The Mistral restaurant and Rendezvous lounge are previews of many fine dining adventures soon to be unveiled, says Sofitel Macau General Manager Robert Rippon.
“When the development is completed, the precinct will be one of Macau's most vibrant areas, with an excellent range of restaurants, bars, entertainment venues and retail outlets to complement the peninsula’s historic attractions,” Rippon says.
Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16 is the 22nd Sofitel to open in China, and follows the highly successful launch of Sofitel Wanda Beijing last year. Sofitel hotels and resorts are to be found in China's most important commercial and resort destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi'an, Xiamen and Hangzhou.
The network will grow to 25 hotels by the end of 2008, making it one of China’s largest and fastest growing networks of luxury hotels.
